Exmouth Fishing Australia
With more than 150 species of fish and excellent beach weather all year round, Exmouth fishing is fishing heaven! You will very rarely, if ever hear of anyone who’s fished these waters and come away empty handed.
In addition to exceptional offshore sport fishing, this premier fishing destination on Australia’s west coast also offers incredible land based fishing opportunities.
Lots of Excitement in Store for the Entire Family
Land based Exmouth fishing is the perfect opportunity for the entire family, from the youngest to the oldest, to get out there and spend the day together.
I’m not sure what I love most of a day spent like this - fishing with the family or cleaning and cooking our catch at the end of the day! Land based fishing in these waters can produce anything from the giant Trevally to the spangled emperor and more.
Beach fishing, squid fishing and mud crabbing are also popular in these waters. While beach fishing turns up some amazing reef species, offshore fishing in Exmouth produces a spectacular variety of estuarine species.

Tips for Fishing in Exmouth
To have a productive day out fishing, you will need to use different techniques depending on what fish you wish to catch. If you’ve set your sights on Trevally and Queenfish, which are sportfish, you will need to use high speed spinning tactics with metal slices. However, if you are going after reef species such as Blue Bone or Spangled Emperor, you will be more successful if you fish after dark using slower retrieves and soft plastic lures. You don’t have to over-plan your day though. The huge variety and the sheer abundance of fish almost guarantees a catch.
Exmouth is known thru out the world as the very best fishing spots for catching large game fish and fishing off the beaches is also superb as is fishing off the piers and wharves.
